HoverJet 55A ============ This is a VTOL/STOL (Vertical/Short Take-Off and Landing) plane. (like the Harrier in True Lies) It is able to take off almost vertically (after about 3 seconds of runway). It's a LearJet 35A. It has four engines and is able to go about 420 mph (once you compare it with the capabilities, it's not so bad). It is not camouflaged like a Harrier, though (I couldn't find any Lear textures on CIS) If anyone finds out a way to camouflage it, please upload it. I have used Chuck Dome's AIRMOD 2.2 to edit the LearJet. Technical Manual ================ Requirements: A computer Flight Simulator 5.0a or later a person The file SIM2.AIR in your \SIM directory How to install: 1. Copy the HOVER.AIR file into your \SIM directory. How to fly ========== To takeoff: 1. Extend your flaps 2. Set throttle to max 3. Wait until reaching desired altitude 4. Remove flaps To hover: 1. Extend flaps and spoilers 2. Set throttle to halfway 3. Trim the aircraft until nose points at horizon ( I find it easier however, to set the autopilot to ATT (Attitude Hold), then point nose at horizon and engage autopilot) 4. Once you are done, deengage the flaps and spoilers, ( and autopilot in some cases) set throttle to maximum, and continue flying. To land: 1. Extend flaps 2. Set throttle to min 3. Lose altitude by pointing nose toward ground until you are close to ground. 4. Make sure your gear is extended. 5. Extend spoilers. 6. Point nose slightly below horizon. 7. Make contact. 8. Brake until stop. (that won't be too hard)
